• Studies of law at the law schools of the Universities of Heidelberg, Germany, and Lausanne, Switzerland; graduation in Heidelberg with the first state exam
• Mandatory clerkship (Referendardienst) with the appelate court in Berlin (Kammergericht) ; graduation with the second state exam
• Academic clerk with Professor Dr. Hans D. Jarass at the Free Univerity of Berlin; dissertation and graduation as Dr. iur.
• Studies of law at the New York University School of Law, graduation as als Master of Comparative Jurisprudence [MCJ]
• Bar Exam in New York und admission as Attorney and Counsellor-at Law, subsequent activity as lawer in large law firms in New York and Frankfurt/Main.
• 11 years in-house counsel to the Thyssen(Krupp)-group, for the last three years as general counsel to the ThyssenKrupp steel division; continuous side activity as lawyer in private practice.
• Graduation as certified accountant for small and medium sized companies (Vereidigter Buchprüfer [vBP]).
• 17 years partner with White & Case (establishment of the Düsseldorf office) and thereafter 9 years partner with GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten in Cologne.
• 2013: Appointment as honorary profossor by the Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
• Beginning of 2024: Establishment of REUTER Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in Düsseldorf.
